Memorial Day Colorado camping

Not surprising, Colorado camping on Memorial Day weekend was freezing and miserable. Only when the morning sun finally lit up the tent did we dare to venture out. Dew formed on everything as the frost thawed.

The bitter cold night welcomed sparkling aspen buds and new grass.  

The natives finally stirred as the temperature rose.

And cousins arrived!

We took a walk up a muddy ATV road.   

S'mores and summer....doesn't get better than this!
