Trip Report Day 13: Welcome (back) to Colorful Colorado
The buffs are out the morning we drive back out of Yellowstone. We stop in West Yellowstone to check messages/make sure all is OK- it was. And snowy! Kenedy mapped our path home: through Idaho, stopping in Driggs for lunch and a full battery.

We consider camping at Jenny Lake in Teton - such a good opportunity in this place that is never available. But we home is calling so we compromise and take the route along the Tetons.

And then through Dubois and Lander where we stop to charge again and picked up grocery food - salad and nuts and berries - to eat in the City Market parking lot while we charge in Rawlins.

It is complete darkness from Rawlins to Encampment. Kenedy finds an audio book to make the time pass: Sea of Charms by Sarah Beth Durst. Fun and cozy! Marin(er), a tough, young, sailor-woman delivers supplies between islands, with her devoted sea serpent, and pulls up to a revolution...a nerdy, handsome love-interest-composer...and a mysterious librarian. This book does the trick for me, for those last few hours.
We drive into a deserted, dark town to a dark hotel. The owner drives over to let us in. It’s late, after 10PM and the room is so nice. We sleep well. Quick showers and coffee before the last short bit. Snow blankets everything starting at about Rand and continues all the way home where. Berthoud and I-70 are not as snowy as we want and hope but still...our water battery fills up just a bit more. We finally find our way home, to our people, our place. Our dog!!
